Mountain Equipment’s Powerstretch Balaclava is a functional and comfortable lightweight balaclava. The extra ear protection is a great feature.

Our Verdict

Mountain Equipment’s Powerstretch Balaclava is a lightweight, quick drying balaclava that is warm and comfortable to wear. It’s mains selling point is the Polartec Power Stretch fabric as it’s an excellent high stretch, high wicking fabric with a brushed fleece surface on the inside and smooth outer.

There are extra panels covering the ear giving them extra protection. My head is small and I found the S/M quite roomy.
