Our Verdict

The Montbell Stretch O.D. Cap balances structure and comfort. At 56g (Medium), it’s light enough for all-day use, and the fabric blends the right amount of give for a close, secure fit. The rear adjustment strap is simple to fine-tune and tucks neatly away once set. Breathability is excellent, even in warmer conditions, and the fast-drying interior band handles sweat well during long efforts. I found the lightly structured brim held shape without feeling rigid, offering reliable sun coverage while adapting well to pack storage.
