With the Shark version of the Ultra Trail Breeze, you’ll be well equipped for your next ultra trail. The Shark System allows you to click directly into the pole and thus have a perfect power transfer between hand and pole. Flexible soft span on the outer hand ensures a pleasantly cool feel. Perforated materials on the palm and between the fingers also provide the hand with excellent ventilation. Both the fingertips and the palm have been reinforced with silicone, which ensures good grip on the pole itself and in contact with rocks.

Our Verdict

The LEKI Ultra Trail Storm Shark Gloves are purpose-built for high-tempo movement with poles, and at 72g (Medium), they’re light enough to bring along on most mountain days. What stands out immediately is the direct connection with LEKI’s Shark pole system – it’s smooth, secure, and noticeably boosts power transfer through the stride. Despite the slim profile, I found the breathability solid thanks to perforated sections across the palm and between the fingers. There’s just enough structure to offer light weather protection, helped by the water-repellent outer fabric and low-profile cuff. Touchscreen compatibility works well, and the minimal insulation helps mitigate the effects of early starts.
