The Injinji Women’s Liner + Hiker Crew Socks are a two-layer sock system designed to be one of the most comfortable and blister-free socks on the market. The inner layer is made of a soft, breathable fabric that wicks away moisture, while the outer layer is a more durable material that provides support and comfort.

The Hiker mirrors the shape of your toes, providing more room and reducing bunching.

Our Verdict

The  Injinji Womens Liner + Hiker Crew Socks are a layered sock system designed to be one the most comfortable and blister-free socks on the market. Essentially, these two socks work together in harmony; The liner sock works like a base layer. Its primary job is to wick moisture away from the feet. In comparison, the outer layer is for protection and comfort.  

If you are familiar with Injinji as a brand, you will know they are famous for their “toe-socks”; each toe has its own little “sleeve”, similar to how each finger has its own “sleeve” in a glove. This can be a bit like marmite; some people love them, and the thought puts others off. The idea is they stop toes rubbing against one another, which can cause blisters and hotspots. 

The outer protective socks do not utilise the “toe-socks”; however, the liner sock does. 

The main reason to use a liner sock such as this is for blister prevention. If you suffer badly from blisters, socks like these can help to prevent them. Blisters are caused by moisture and friction; the liner sock wicks away moisture from the feet, and the protective outer sock transfers the friction from the shoe or boot to the liner sock; these two layers glide over one another, alleviating irritation.
