New for SS25, the Solar Event 2 is designed for trekkers, long-distance hikers, and adventurers who need a lightweight yet spacious shelter. Engineered for comfort and performance, it features a newinner pitch-first design, making it more versatile.

The tent’s triple ripstop flysheet fabric enhances stability in harsh weather, while the recycled, PFC-free, and solution-dyed materials deliver sustainability without compromising durability. With a max weight of just 1.47kg and a packed size of 48cm x 17cm, it’s light and compact enough for fast-paced treks and multi-day expeditions.

Designed for practicality on the trail, the Solar Event 2 features two side-entry doors and dual porches, offering easy access and ample storage for gear. Front and rear fly hoods improve airflow and ventilation, while the tent’s stable, aerodynamic shape ensures reliable performance in poorweather.

For added versatility, it’s compatible with Terra Nova’s FASTPACK and Pitchlite Systems, allowing for a customised setup based on conditions and weight requirements. The option to add trekking poles provides additional structural support, making the Solar Event 2 an adaptable, high-performance shelter.

Our Verdict

At 1,337g, this semi-freestanding, inner-pitch-first tent is built with a focus on strength, using recycled, solution-dyed, PFC-free, and impressively durable fabrics. The interior is good for two; however, two wide mats are a squeeze. The porches are functional, with enough space to cook or stash a couple of packs.

You can integrate trekking poles for added stability, which gives it extra confidence in rougher conditions. The dark interior is brilliant for sleeping in—less so if you’re holed up on a grey winter’s day. Fly hoods at both ends keep airflow moving, and the setup is simple on varied ground thanks to its semi-freestanding design.
