The Truda Flex is a waterproof, breathable, and stretchy shell for hiking and mountain biking. It has a 20,000mm waterproof rating and 20,000g/m2/24hr breathability rating. The soft stretch fabric allows freedom of movement, and pit zips provide additional ventilation.

Our Verdict

The Truda Flex is a highly breathable, stretchy, waterproof jacket designed for active outdoor pursuits like hiking and mountain biking. It utilises a Pertex Shield membrane, offering dependable 20,000mm waterproof protection yet allowing an impressive 20,000g/m2/24hr breathability rating to prevent internal moisture buildup.

The real standout is the soft, blue-approved stretch fabric, which allows excellent freedom of movement. Pit zips provide additional ventilation when working hard. The adjustable cuffs, dropped hem, and hood let you batten down for bad weather.

At around 500g for a size medium, it’s lightweight yet robust. Valuable features include hand pockets with zipper pulls, a chest pocket, and PFC-free DWR coating on the eco-conscious membrane fabric.

While lacking a helmet-compatible hood, the Truda Flex ticks most boxes for an active waterproof shell. The combination of stretch, waterproofing, breathability and zippered venting makes it well-suited to fast-paced mountain activities where overheating and inflexible fabrics can be issues.
