The Squffel 44L is a travel-ready hybrid that hauls like a duffel but carries like a proper pack.

Our Verdict

The Transporter Squffel 44L impressed me most with its adaptable carry system. The stowable harness is well-padded and surprisingly stable, with a sternum strap, which is a nice addition. For short hauls between terminals or station platforms, it shifts quickly into backpack mode, sparing shoulders from the usual duffel drag. Four grab handles and eight lash points give plenty of handling and securing options if you’re chucking it in a roof box or strapping it to a rack.

The clamshell-style opening with roll-away dividers allows for organised packing, and the split-level design keeps dirty kit separate without needing extra bags. The ventilated top section helps manage damp gear on the move. The fabrics feel tough for the weight, and the rain flap over the main zip does a good job shedding weather, though I wouldn’t count on it staying fully dry in sustained rain.

For a sub-1.2 kg bag that straddles travel and gear-hauling duties, it’s a solid piece of kit that delivers flexibility without fuss.
