Burly enough for the road less travelled, but comfortable enough to carry all the way there — the Transporter 65L is a proper gear-hauling workhorse.

Our Verdict

The 65L version of Osprey’s Transporter carries the same standout harness system as the 40L, and it’s just as impressive here. The full yoke and contoured shoulder straps distribute weight evenly, making heavier loads manageable over longer stretches. I also appreciate how the main compartment sits against your back in carry mode — that subtle shift adds a layer of security when navigating crowds.

At 1211g, it’s heavier for a duffel, but it earns that weight with proper structure, reinforced fabrics, and thoughtful detailing. The dual-sided TPU coating shrugs off rain and mud, and the body panels are stiff enough to hold their shape, which makes packing much easier. I could fit a week’s worth of kit — including trail shoes, layers, and a full cook system — with room left over. The end pocket is great for quick-access items, though I’d still pack valuables deep inside if you’re heading through stations or airports.
