Our Verdict

The Osprey Small Camera Cube is a well-padded, protective organiser built to carry a camera system inside your pack. At 380g and with a 6-litre volume, it’s best suited to mirrorless setups or a small DSLR with one or two lenses. The moulded EVA foam structure gives reassuring rigidity without being bulky, and the dividers are easy to configure to suit different kits. I’ve found it slots neatly into panel-loading packs like the Stratos 34, where you can access it from the front without digging everything else out first. You’ll need to lift it out in a top-loader, but it’s manageable thanks to the sturdy carry handle.

There’s the option to add a shoulder strap, which could be useful around camp or for quick day missions, though it works best when used as an insert. It’s not oversized or overdesigned—just a smart, focused way to bring camera gear without switching to a dedicated photo pack.
