Our Verdict

OMM’s Pace Pants allow you to add a layer of protection at minimal weight. They give a good amount of protection from the wind, rain and cold without the hot, sticky feeling of wearing waterproof over trousers. They are lightweight, loose (for anyone who doesn’t like tights) and breathable so they are perfect for running and fast packing. They are comfortable enough to wear all day or they can be stowed easily in a pocket for when you need an extra layer.

The panels on the rear of the leg, from the knee down are stretchy and it theory make getting the pant on over shoes easier but the stitching around the ankle will inevitably break when you do need to stretch them over larger shoes or boots. There is a drop pocket on the rear which is great for gels or snacks but there is no closure so you can’t put anything important in.
