With all the protection, stretch and breathability of the ever-popular Kamleika, the Swift offers a stripped-back version, perfect for training and lower-level adventures when you still want all the benefits of freedom of movement and protection but perhaps don’t need the fully-featured spec of a mountain shell. Streamlined design and athletic cut keeps things simple and lets you focus on your session. The Kamleika Swift won’t pass kit check but it will get you through those early morning workouts.

Our Verdict

The OMM Kamleika Swift Jacket is a lightweight, versatile softshell designed for active outdoor enthusiasts. This streamlined version of OMM’s famous Kamleika line offers excellent protection and breathability for training runs and less demanding adventures.

At 201g for a medium, it’s impressively light without compromising performance. The 4-way stretch Kamleika fabric provides unrestricted movement, while the 20,000mm hydrostatic head and matching breathability rating ensure you stay dry from rain and sweat.

Key features include an athletic cut, extended cuffs with thumb loops, and a zippered chest pocket. The fully taped minimal seam construction reduces potential friction points, making it ideal for high-output activities.

While unsuitable for official race kit list (as it doesn’t have a hood), the Swift excels as a training jacket or for casual outdoor pursuits. Its soft, quiet fabric is a bonus for those who dislike the typical “crinkly” sound of hardshells.
