Our Verdict

Ultralight yet liveable, the updated Telemark 2.2 LW strikes a smart balance between minimal weight and practical comfort for fast, solo journeys or pared-back pairs.

At just over 1,000g, it’s hard to ignore how little space or effort this takes up in a pack. The updated 2.2 model now features two doors, which improves ventilation and access, especially when sharing. The adjustable inner gives a bit of flexibility—either maximise your sleeping space or create more room in the vestibule for gear. It’s a clever tweak that adds to the overall versatility.

Two people could cohabit comfortably for a night or two, but if I were heading out on a multi-day hike, I’d want the space to myself. The materials are, as expected, ultralight and need handling with care. The single pole sleeve took a moment to locate on the first pitch—something worth practising before setting it up in a breeze. Once up, though, it’s stable and impressively weatherproof for such a low weight, with a 2,000 mm fly and 8,000 mm floor.
