Our Verdict

Ultralight yet liveable, the updated Telemark 1 LW strikes a smart balance between minimal weight and real-world usability for solo journeys where every gram matters.

At just 795g (Medium), it’s hard to overstate how compact and efficient this tent is. The single-pole design makes for a quick pitch, though the pole sleeve took a moment to locate the first time—worth familiarising yourself with before setting up in exposed conditions. Once pitched, the tent feels surprisingly spacious inside, with just enough headroom to sit up and room at the foot for a bit of kit. The adjustable inner width is a clever feature, letting you shift between sleeping space and more vestibule area depending on your gear and needs.

As expected for a tent this light, the materials are delicate and require careful handling. It holds up well in poor weather, with a 2,000 mm fly and a reassuringly tough 8,000 mm groundsheet.
