Our Verdict

Roomier, tougher, and still impressively light, the latest Dagger Ridge OSMO 2P leans into comfort, striking a fine balance between backcountry function and in-camp livability.

The updated pole geometry makes a noticeable difference; it provides more shoulder and headroom, higher door clearance, and a genuinely useful boost in vestibule space. For two people sharing, it’s fantastic for a night or two away, though you will not be able to both use wide mats. It’s perfect for solo multi-day hikes, offering plenty of space for you and your gear to sprawl. 

The new Axial corner anchors make for an intuitive pitch, and once it’s up, the pre-bent pole structure holds its shape well, even in sustained wind. The OSMO fabric is a highlight. It sheds water reliably and feels noticeably more stable when wet than older silnylon tents I’ve used. It’s also made from recycled yarns and dyed with a low-impact process, which feels like a step in the right direction, sustainability-wise. 

At 1719g (Medium), it’s not the lightest in our lineup, but for the interior space and all-weather reliability, it still fits the bill for weight-conscious two-person backpacking. If you’re looking for a semi-freestanding, full-featured shelter with real comfort for two and a focus on responsible materials, this is worth considering.
