Our Verdict

The largest of Mammut’s harness pocket range, the Lithium Add-on in size L is a well-considered kit for those who want key items close at hand. At 51g, it’s still very light, and the fleece-lined interior offers welcome protection for scratch-prone gear like sunglasses or electronics. I’ve found it ideal for stowing my phone, especially when I want it accessible for mapping or photos without digging through the pack.

It attaches securely to a shoulder strap, hipbelt or harness using a simple Velcro tab system, and the fit is stable even during more dynamic movement. The water-resistant outer is helpful in light showers, though I’d still stash electronics in a dry bag if the weather turns.
