The grip has been improved in numerous ways and has been redesigned in terms of comfort and control. Special hollow core technology allows the combination of lightweight construction and large, supportive surfaces that meet all the ergonomic requirements of your hand. Maximum grip and control when going downhill is provided by the Aergon Air´s rubberized grip back. The inclined angle supports your wrist for optimal guidance and placement of the pole and contributes to safety on the mountain. The extremely lightweight folding pole is made of 100 % carbon and its weight of only 228 g makes it a lightweight yet reliable companion on the mountain!

Our Verdict

Everything LEKI does is about quality, although not the absolute lightest poles LEKI poles are famously well-designed and super tough. Leki’s Black Series FX Carbon Trekking Poles have been designed for trekking and multi day backpacking so are extremely robust, they have a comfortable cork-like grip and dual Lever Locks for continuous adjustment.

The Cork-like grip is particularly cool and comforable and some people prefer this to the ubiquitous foam grip. The Black Series Poles do have a foam section extending down the shaft of the pole which is really useful for steep ascent.

We also like the short packed length of 40cm, just so convenient, especially when travelling.
