The Ledlenser NEO9R Running Head Torch is a powerful choice for runners and outdoor enthusiasts who need reliable, high-output lighting. With a maximum output of 1,200 lumens and a beam reaching up to 200 metres, it illuminates short-range and distant trails, helping you navigate confidently. At 199g, it feels lightweight for its power and is comfortable enough for extended use, with the chest strap option providing flexibility for those who prefer lower placement.

One standout feature is the dual beam, which combines spot and floodlight modes to enhance peripheral vision—a real benefit for trail running. The rechargeable battery delivers up to five hours on high and charges quickly with a magnetic system, though a USB-C option would add versatility. The rear red light and reflective headband boost safety by increasing 360-degree visibility.

While the battery placement can be a bit awkward when worn on the chest with other gear, such as a running vest or backpack, I’d also appreciate the option to swap out the modular battery pack for a smaller one. The power output is fantastic, but for shorter runs, the full capacity isn’t always necessary.
