Our Verdict

The Julbo Frequency Reactiv 0-3 High Contrast sunglasses weigh just 18g, but don’t mistake the weight for fragility. The frame’s semi-rimless design feels modern and unobtrusive, and the wide cylindrical lens offers genuinely panoramic coverage without the tunnel vision you sometimes get from more wrapped designs. I found the contrast-enhancing tint particularly helpful on uneven trails, where picking out subtle changes in terrain made a real difference.

The photochromic lens transitions quickly from nearly clear to dark enough for exposed ridgelines. The fit is generally spot-on, thanks to the slim, grippy arms and nose pad.
