This is a tidy solution for staying hydrated on the move without reaching into side pockets or carrying a hydration bladder.

If you’re looking to carry 500ML, 700ML, or 1L Smartwater, or similar shaped bottles, the ULA Flow is your solution! The ULA Flow is compatible with all ULA backpacks and most other brands. The ULA Flow features a shockcord retention system that’s field serviceable and is designed to cinch the weight of the bottle towards the strap.

For reference, 1L Smartwater bottles have a diameter of 2.75″ and are 11.5″ tall. 700ml Smartwater bottles have a diameter of 2.75″ and are 9.25″ tall. If you are using your own bottle, it must be almost identical dimensions to fit.

The ULA Flow is sold individually, so if you want a pocket for each strap, be sure to order two. The Flows attach using 2 Slik clips to the 3/4″ webbing strap that runs up the shoulder straps on ULA packs.

Our Verdict

The updated ULA Flow Water Bottle Sleeve keeps a 700ml Smartwater bottle right where you need it—on your shoulder strap—using a lightweight mesh design and a simple, adjustable shock cord. At 31g, it’s barely noticeable once attached. I found it works best with tall, slim bottles; anything wider tends to feel overstuffed. The sleeve mounts with two Slik clips and stays secure while walking or scrambling.
