This includes polar travellers looking to save weight, mountaineers doing remote routes in the highest ranges, professional guides, and military special forces teams. But these same characteristics are just as highly prized by more “regular” users, as well: backpackers, cycle and paddle tourers, and anyone needing maximum strength while reducing weight.

“Nammatj” is the Sami word for a lone mountain standing at the head of a valley.

Our Verdict

At 3260g (excluding pegs and bags), this tunnel tent offers a strong balance between protection and weight. The vestibule is spacious at 2.4 m², with plenty of room for kit and sheltered cooking. The inner tent is comfortable for two, with decent headroom and just enough length for taller sleepers. Setup is efficient with a sleeve system and integrated pitch, and the pack size remains manageable at 51 × 18 cm.

Ventilation is adjustable through end vents and inner fabric panels, and condensation is generally well controlled. Interior storage is basic, but sufficient for essentials.

As part of Hilleberg’s Black Label range, this tent is designed for all-season, high-load use with no compromises on durability. The Kerlon 1800 fabric and 10 mm poles are proven in alpine and polar environments, offering exceptional tear strength and long-term reliability. Hilleberg’s reputation for precision construction is evident throughout, from the stitching to the tensioning system.
