Our Verdict

The Haglöfs LIM Airak GTX Pants are a clean, efficient shell layer that delivers impressive performance for just 219g (Medium). Incredibly light for a full-featured waterproof, they still manage to feel like a proper pair of trousers rather than emergency overtrousers. The 3-layer GORE-TEX with PFAS-free ePE membrane and C-KNIT backer offers a solid balance of waterproofing (28,000 mm) and breathability (RET <13), while feeling soft and quiet next to the skin.

Full-length side vents make them easy to put on or take off quickly, and significantly improve airflow, which I appreciate during sustained efforts. The Kevlar-reinforced cuffs with internal drawcords stay secure over footwear, even when moving fast. I also found the elastic waistband and clean, minimal design added to the overall comfort on long days.
