This is the most popular backpack in our pack’s range. Chosen by hundreds of hikers and tested by thousands of kilometres of travels. This backpack is a reliable friend on long distance hikes.

The unique design has simple roll top construction which can be fast loading and easy adjustment of the volume. The shape of the backpack body has the form of a trapezoid – this is for more convenient loading of the gear into the backpack. There are a lot of additional pockets for quick access, convenient placement and easy packing of gear in it. The backpack helps to improve your speed, efficiency, increase hiking distance on the trail. Ideally for those who want to save every gram in their gear.

Our Verdict

The Liteway Elementum Pack 50L is a highly efficient and ultra-lightweight option for long-distance hikers prioritising minimalism and functionality. Weighing in at just 721g for the medium size, this frameless pack offers a total volume of 50 litres, with a roll-top design that makes adjusting capacity simple and quick. The trapezoid shape of the main compartment allows for easy gear organisation, and the seven additional pockets ensure you can access essentials without rummaging through the main body.

The frameless design includes loops for attaching a sleeping mat along the back and adding structure to the pack (though cord must be attached). The stretch fabric front and side pockets are great for storing water bottles or wet gear, while the hip belt pockets offer easy access to small items like snacks or navigation tools. The pack is compatible with the hydration system, and its load-lifter straps can be quickly removed when not needed, keeping things lightweight.

Although the Ecopak™ EPX200 and UltraGrid™ fabrics used are highly durable and waterproof, it’s worth noting that the seams aren’t sealed, so the pack isn’t fully waterproof. Still, the fabric’s water resistance ensures it performs well in light rain, and any excess water can quickly drain thanks to the cleverly designed pockets.

One improvement I would make is that the compression straps on the side of the pack are elasticated, and I prefer the straps not to have any give, but this is a straightforward alteration.

Material & Construction

The backpack can be built from:

• Ecopak™ EPX200 – 100% recycled polyester components, C0 DWR (no fluorocarbons), 70d Ripstop backing. Compared to traditional pack fabric with 50d plain weave backing, the 70d Ripstop has better stitch holding and superior strength.
• UltraGrid™ is recycled nylon grid fabric with Ultra™ ripstop. Woven with 210d recycled nylon yarn from pre-consumer industrial waste. Exceptional tear-strength and visual impact. Has a non-toxic C0 DWR coating, free from toxic PFCs and finished with a waterproof 1500mm PU backing.

The main material (fabric) of the backpack is 100% waterproof, but please, pay attention that the seams of the backpack are not sealed. This means that the backpack is not waterproof.
