What could be more traditional and hearty than cottage pie, a term first used in 1791. Our Beef Cottage Pie combines potato, minced beef, carrots, onions and thyme. Use in the beautiful countryside for the perfect meal anytime of the year.
Preparation: REMOVE THE OXYGEN ABSORBER* (Sachet) from inside the pouch. Slowly add hot water, stirring as you pour and then close the bag. Wait 5 minutes for the food to rehydrate. Cold water will suffice, however the re-hydration time is much longer.
* The oxygen absorber helps maintain product freshness and is non toxic. DO NOT EAT.

| STAFF’S TASTE TEST – We found the consistency of this dish to be odd. It was more like a stew than a pie with a mash topping. Of course, it is difficult to recreate a pie in dehydrated form, but we thought the small chunks of potato, which did not hydrate well, detracted from the overall experience. The flavours were nice, it was well seasoned, and the beef was tasty, though we would have liked to have seen bigger chunks of it. We recommend adding more liquid to the dish before rehydrating it, as this may help improve the consistency. |
