Our Verdict

The fact this pillow can be used in two ways is a big plus for me, the DriDown pillow topper, which is soft and warm thanks to the 650 fill down quilted filling, in conjunction with the synthetic pillow insert, has a feel that is more akin to a pillow you would use at home, albeit slightly smaller. This is a tad bulky in the pack and definitely weighs more than some inflatable pillows, but depending on the adventure you have planned this may be a sacrifice you are willing to make, for an increased level of comfort. However, if fast and light is more your style, this pillow still has something to offer. By removing the synthetic insert and just taking the down pillow top, you can then stuff any unused clothes in that, giving you a soft and warm and lightweight alternative that is still going to give you more of a homely feel.
