Our Verdict

The Big Agnes Sweetwater UL 60L Rucksack makes a strong first impression with its wide, running-vest-style shoulder straps, which distribute weight evenly across your chest and shoulders. The generously sized shoulder strap pockets keep essentials organised and within easy reach—something I’ve come to consider essential on any pack of this capacity. The harness works well with the shaped back panel, which feels supportive and breathable without being overbuilt. At 1,450g for the medium, it’s competitive for a pack with an internal frame and a complete feature set. The storage layout is excellent, with a capacious main compartment, plenty of accessible mesh, and solid external compression.

I would have liked to see hip belt pockets included—especially on a 60-litre design—and the lid closure cord could have a cleaner finish. That said, the pack carries smoothly and adjusts easily, and its use of recycled ocean-sourced nylon makes it a confident step in the right direction.
