Our Verdict

The Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 50F Down Zip Quilt blends the openness of a quilt with the structure of a mummy bag, offering flexibility for spring and summer nights. At 424g with a 227g fill weight, it’s clearly aimed at those counting grams, in warmer summer months. 

The FlipIt footbox design transforms into a fully enclosed foot section for cooler nights, or can be flipped open to convert the quilt into a traditional blanket-style layout.. Diamond baffles help the 650 fill down loft evenly, avoiding the usual cold patches along seams. 

The fabric is a recycled 10D nylon ripstop made from discarded fishing nets, which holds up well for such a light material. Packed down, it takes up little space at 17 × 20cm, making it ideal for minimalists. It can also be incorporated into a pre-existing sleep system to add warmth.
