Apidura’s Top Tube Pack 1L is part of the Expedition range. It is lightweight, waterproof and durable. Great as a small, secure stash whether just nipping to the shops, or as part of an expedition set up.

Apidura says: 

A useful standalone bag for daily riding or as part of a larger bikepacking setup, the Expedition Top Tube Pack is a lightweight, secure storage space that’s ideal for stashing frequently used items on the road. The top tube bag is waterproof with welded seams and a pioneering waterproof zipper.

Available in 0.5L and 1L volumes, the smaller top tube bag is suited for storing bars and snacks, while the larger version can also accommodate smartphones and battery packs. It fastens securely to the top tube, opening and closing via an easy access one-finger zipper puller. Adjustable attachment points ensure that the bag is versatile enough for a range of different frames.

Our Verdict

Apidura’s Top Tube Pack 1L is part of the Expedition range. It is lightweight, waterproof and durable. This is the larger of the 2 top tube packs and there is a half litre version too. The semi rigid construction is secured to the bike with a velcro top tube strap and a second strap attaches it to the head tube keeping it sturdy and in place even on rougher terrain. There is an opening for cables, making it an obvious place for power banks and other electricals. The waterproof top zip has a large zip puller, allowing easy access on the move even when wearing gloves.

Material & Construction

• The Expedition Top Tube Pack is cut from a three-layer laminate fabric that was developed specifically for Apidura. The material is lightweight, and is highly resistant to tears and abrasion. Notably, it’s welded together at the seams, creating a watertight seal that ensures the top tube bag remains completely waterproof.
• Wash the Food Pouch by hand, using a mild diluted soap if necessary. Afterwards, let it air dry.
• Do not machine wash, machine dry, or iron.
• Excess strain can cause stress to the zipper mechanism and negate the waterproof nature of the closure. Do not overpack.
